Over Under and Through the Warp : The Art of Tapestry Weaving showcases the variety of techniques, imagery, materials and design processes involved in creating handwoven tapestries. The goal of this exhibit is not only to showcase beautiful, thought-provoking tapestries and the amazing talent of TWINE members but to also expand the viewer’s understanding and appreciation of this unique art form.
Tapestry Weavers in New England ( TWINE ), founded in 1991, is a professional organization of 60+ contemporary tapestry weavers. It is an inclusive member-run organization dedicated to promoting the fine art of handwoven contemporary tapestry and educating the public about the history and techniques involved. Exhibitions, retreats, workshops and supporting one another are key to our mission.
