(UU) Harvard’s “First, First Night”: A Celebration of Community and Caring

December 31, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm EST

$50

Make magic and make history by ringing in the New Year.  This inaugural signature event is a celebration of all things community and caring in town. Join us to welcome 2018 with an evening of festive fun, frolic and dancing.  Ages 18 and up.

Irresistibly local, this one-of-a-kind town center New Year’s celebration offers guests versatile entertainment options, delicious heavy hors-d’oeuvres, a decadent dessert bar and is a BYOB event. From9pm on, guests can enjoy the live music of the aptly named “Time Traveler”, headlined by notable musician and artist, Steve Peisch, and featuring sensational vocalist Suzanne Buell. Steeped in funk, soul, pop, rock, R&B, hip hop and jazz, the band has established itself as a leader in the local music scene. Young and old alike, guests can expect an enormously entertaining performance for their listening or dancing pleasure. The first event of its kind in town, memories will be made as clock ticks down to midnight. Come raise a toast to peace, prosperity and in support of our cherished seniors who paved the way forward for the special place that is Harvard today.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Council on Aging, proceeds will benefit the COA and its important work with Harvard seniors.

Community partners are invited to participate with the FCOA in this groundbreaking “first” of “First Nights” to come as well. Groups are welcomed to host an open house on the Common for crafts, creativity or conversation, sponsor babysitting for attendees with young children, arrange a ‘tween movie night or make it a family night with marathon snow sculpting or sledding on the Common beforehand.

Organizer Pat Cooper explains “‘ ‘First, First Night’ is a tradition just begun. Let’s build many nights and memories together as a community, as we create opportunities for celebration and caring in town. Let’s get the party started by thanking and letting our seniors know just how much they are supported and appreciated.”

Tickets available via the email address shown.  Checks are payable to the “FCOA” at PO Box 474, Harvard, MA 01451.
