Join author Erica Ferencik on Sunday, April 3rd at 4pm, where she will discuss the origin story of her stunning new novel Girl in Ice. Erica will also share a presentation called JOURNEY TO GREENLAND showcasing her month-long research trip to this land of almost incomprehensible size and scale, where she traveled by small plane, helicopter, kayak, and on foot; camped for two weeks in sight of the polar ice cap; interviewed the mayor, hunters, and other residents of a small Greenlandic town; and experienced thrills, terror, awe, and biting cold (often all at once) along the way.
In the novel, Val, an American linguist, is tasked to journey to a remote climate research center off the coast of Greenland where a girl has thawed from the ice – alive – speaking a language no one understands.
