Harvard resident David McLellan studied classical guitar at the Hartt School of Music, New England Conservatory, and the Aspen Music Festival. He has taught at the Hartt School and the University of Connecticut, while giving solo recital performances throughout New England. Dave has performed with chamber ensembles and singers across New England in various genres including Latin and Rock. Dave is a philanthropist, supporting many causes annually, insisting that musicians must be good citizens, sharing their gifts with the world around them.
In this program (see below), Dave performs a concert of remarkable variety, humor, excitement, and introspection. His narrative about the music and composers shapes the listener’s experience, for a meaningful journey through the music of the Cuban Leo Brouwer, Spain’s national hero Manuel de Falla, the British genius Lennox Berkeley, Jefferson Airplane and others. The title work by Australian Graeme Koehne is a captivatingly beautiful ballad with a positive outlook, something the world desperately needs in modern times.
