Enjoy a creative afternoon and explore the magical world of printmaking using a gelatin “Gelli” plate. No art experience is needed! Participants will learn to use the printmaking plate to create beautiful and unique patterned papers. We’ll use our printed papers to make book covers, cards, gift tags and art collages.
Gelli plate mono printing is a spontaneous and easy way to experiment with color, pattern and shapes. The prints are magical in their unpredictable results. Acrylic paint is applied with a brayer to the flexible non-toxic mineral oil based printing plate. Paper is pressed onto the Gelli plate and the paint transfers to the paper. The printed papers dry quickly and can be used to make collages, cards, book covers, banners, earrings, art and whatever you can imagine!
All supplies provided. Come and play! Also, see this class to learn how to make crafts from the prints you create in this workshop. You can take either or both classes. You can use Gelli prints made in the first class to create projects in the second class.
Students will need to bring their own apron (or wear appropriate painting clothes)
This class is for ages 18+. The cost is $50 per student and everything is included.
