POSTPONED Rare Bear Sewing Workshop for Rare Science

The Rare Bear Sewing Workshop

Learn how to create a one-of-a-kind Rare Bear for a one-of-a-kind “rare” kid! The Rare Science Organization has initiated the Rare Bear Program to support children with rare diseases. I will have fun, kid-friendly fabrics available to create your Rare Bear. Completed bears will be mailed to Rare Science for gifting to “rare” kids. Each workshop participant will later receive a photo in the mail showing their Rare Bear with their special child.

With the Rare Bear Program, each participant will need to register to the Rare Science Organization to receive a unique serial number tag and Rare Bear feet pads to incorporate into your bear. Simply go to: https://www.rarescience.org/rare-bear-program/rare-bear-army-signup and register for free by adding your name and address. You will then need to purchase the the Simplicity Pattern C5461 Rare Bear Sewing Pattern ($5.96). All proceeds from pattern sales go to the Rare Bear Organization.

Time: 9:30am-1:00pm

Workshop Cost: $10/person

Please note the following:

–        Participants should have a basic knowledge of sewing.

–        Participants will need to bring along their sewing machine. (Judy will have 3 machines available for use.)

–        Participants should also bring along typical sewing supplies: thread, scissors, pins, bobbins, power cord, etc.

–        The bears will not need to be stuffed. The Rare Bear organization prefers to receive them skinny! 😉
