This class is designed to build confidence in your sketches by focusing on line, shapes, shading, volume, and perception. We will explore different drawing techniques and work with both short and long-timed studies. The goal of the class is to improve draftsmanship skills, gain confidence and overall, enhance your drawing skills.
Materials: graphite pencils, conte crayons, blending stumps, newsprint paper or sketching paper.
Gwen Leonard’s love of art drives her to share her experience and talent with others ensuring an enjoying, non-frustrating process in finding their own style in a medium of the student’s choice. Gwen studied at the Art Student’s League for over twenty years, focusing on life drawing, anatomy, print making, water color and oil painting. Her philosophy in teaching art is that everyone has their own style to find and develop and one can achieve that through believing in oneself, patience, and joy. Gwen helped launch the Plein Air painting program in 2019 for Fivesparks, which continues today.
